Sustainability

More than 20% of the area of Jacutinga Farm is dedicated to environmental preservation, including native forests and riparian forests, reservoirs and natural areas that shelter a wide variety of local fauna and flora, such as capybaras, caimans, boas, anacondas, tapirs, deer, foxes, jaguars, anteaters and monkeys, as well as numerous species of birds.

In addition, the farm maintains sustainable animal husbandry, an organic vegetable garden for its employees and a selective waste collection system, with materials sent for recycling in partnership with the local municipality.

Integrated crop and livestock production

The farm uses crop–livestock integration and crop rotation in the sugarcane areas, mainly applying green manure with legumes to fix nitrogen and increase organic matter in the soil.

Social Project: Lucélia Eco Pedal

The Eco Pedal is a cycling event that brings together sport, tourism, environmental awareness and solidarity, gathering cyclists from Lucélia and neighbouring towns. In addition to encouraging cycling and contact with nature, the event also promotes social initiatives.

Jacutinga Farm, where Planta Verde is located, takes part as the finishing point of the route, welcoming the cyclists and presenting its practices of production and environmental preservation. The farm also promotes moments of integration, helping to strengthen rural tourism and the appreciation of local production.
